Why we’re proud to fight against racism.
Discover how we helped in the battle to prevent racism.
As a company that communicates with people of all backgrounds every single day, we are firm advocates for the benefits and advantages that multiculturalism has given society. In fact, many of our interpreter team have risked a lot to travel to Australia and New Zealand, in search of a better and often safer life. But now they’re settled in their new country, they are helping communities across the country by offering language support.
But one sad truth is that many migrants suffer the effects of racism in their lives.
Racism can come in many forms, and none are acceptable in a modern society. That’s why we are so proud to be supporting Engage Victoria with our language solutions for their Anti-Racism Strategy Public Consultation Survey.
We’re connecting Victorians of all cultural backgrounds to interpreters, who then help them complete the survey, and ensure that their experience is recorded and heard. These can be challenging experiences for people to recount, so ezispeak’s team of practiced, qualified interpreters are perfectly suited in this role of assistance.
This is a specialized interpreting solution that we set up in record time, and it involved multiple departments within ezispeak to stand up this service – Customer Success to liaise closely with Engage Victoria and ensure we’re constantly in alignment with their goals for this survey; Technical Operations to build the on-demand IVR phone menus; and Service Operations to ensure that we have sufficient interpreter capacity to meet demand.
But just as important as the operational side of this project is the ethical side.
ezispeak is a company that from day one strived to be a better place for all Australians and New Zealanders to work for, and part of that is ensuring that our people are given a safe and welcoming place to work within, regardless of cultural background, skin colour, religion, sexuality or any another differentiators.
The opportunity to work on a project such as this only solidifies our ethical stance, and allows us to also tangibly help in the fight against racism.
Engage Victoria’s Anti-Racism Strategy Public Consultation Survey gives all Victorians the chance and opportunity to talk about their experiences with racism, and help shape future strategies to stop racism in the future.
